Issachar Ber Ryback

Graduated from the Department of Art and Painting at the City People’s College in Elizavetgrad (now Kirovograd) (1911). Attended KKhli, studying under Adrian Prakhov and Ivan Seleznev (1912-1918). Met Oleksandr Tyshler and Solomon Nikritin; member of Kultur-Liga (1917). With Olexandr Bogomazov, Anatol Petrytsky, Kliment Redko decorated Kyiv streets and squares for Red Army Day (1919). With El Lissitzky, Solomon Yudovin, et al. participated in an ethnographical expedition through Jewish settlements of Ukraine. Late 1919 onwards lived in Moscow, and then Minsk, Berlin, and Paris.
