The Library of Ukrainian Art representative took part in the artistiс event conmemorating the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the outgoing Ukrainian avant-garde painter Olexandr Bogomazov (1880-1930) at the town of Zolotonosha to work there as a teacher of art in the local College of Commerce. A group of enthusiasts and art critics in collaboration with Town Council celebrated this event on April, 26, 2017. The inspirer of the project becаme Nataliya Hovorkova, an art critic and painter.
The participants lectured in the Cultural Centre of Zolotonosha. Dmytro Horbachov acquainted the audience with the period of life of the painter in the town (view the video here). Kateryna Lebedieva, the founder of the Library of Ukrainian Art, delivered a lecture on “TOP-9 avant-garde painters of Ukraine”. An actor and an artist Fedor Alexandrovich, starring in the film The Russian Woodpecker, presented an avant-garde performance “Triangle. Circle. Square”.
The visitors also had a chance of surveing the exposition of photos dedicated to Bogomazov`s life, his friends and his family. The gastronomic surprise of the event was a cake decorated with the reproduction of the painter`s picture “Armenian Woman”.
