Library of Ukrainian Art presents exclusive illustrations by Olena Kulchytska to Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky’s novel “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors” 1929 edition. Artist has created more than 70 illustrations reproducing magic of the Carpathians nature and ethnographic details of the hutsul way of life. Some illustrations show one of creative methods of Kulchytska – redrawing images from photos.
